Janmashtami is a grand festival where Lord Krishna is worshipped in his infant form. Devotees fast until midnight, which is the traditional hour of his birth. The idol of Krishna is bathed in milk and water, dressed in new clothes and worshipped. Temples are decorated with flowers, and Prasad is distributed among devotees.
